About the position

The Social Worker (Program Coordinator) - Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) Coordinator is responsible for providing clinical and administrative supervision within the Dorn VAMC under the Social Work Service Line. This role involves overseeing the HCHV program, coordinating services for veterans, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. The position requires a strong focus on program development, staff supervision, and fiscal management to enhance the quality of care provided to homeless veterans.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a group of employees from various disciplines and GS levels.
  • Provides administrative, technical, and clinical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit/service, including outreach efforts.
  • Administers the HCHV Program and supervises staff working in the program.
  • Assists in program development and evaluates new or existing programs.
  • Reviews and certifies the accuracy and correctness within the program.
  • Coordinates services offered to veterans enrolled in the program, including educational, individual, and group treatment.
  • Formulates, interprets, and implements policies and procedures pertinent to quality healthcare in a homeless program.
  • Makes annual fiscal and budget projections for approval and monitors program expenditures.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work.
  • Licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level.
  • One year of experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in social work.
  • Demonstrated advanced practice skills and judgment.
