About the position

The Social Worker (Program Coordinator) position at the Department of Veterans Affairs involves managing the Caregiver Support Program (CSP) at the Edward P. Boland VA Medical Center. This role focuses on providing comprehensive services, education, and resources to caregivers of Veterans with complex needs. The incumbent will oversee service delivery, coordinate care activities, and serve as a subject matter expert for CSP-related issues, ensuring effective outreach and support for eligible caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain an ongoing education program for Veterans, caregivers, community agencies, students, and staff.
  • Develop and implement outreach plans to engage Veterans and caregivers who may benefit from CSP services.
  • Coordinate program implementation with multiple clinical services across the VA facility.
  • Serve as a supervisor for staff within the Caregiver Support Program.
  • Act as the point of contact for inquiries and outreach requests regarding PCAFC and PGCSS caregivers.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work.
  • Current state licensure or certification to independently practice social work at the master's degree level.
  • One year of experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in social work.
