About the position

The Social Worker for the Substance Use Disorder Program is responsible for providing psychosocial services to veterans enrolled in the clinic. This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, utilizing various treatment modalities to address substance use and addiction issues, and ensuring continuity of care through effective communication and collaboration with veterans, their families, and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial substance use services to veterans enrolled in the clinic.
• Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Utilize a range of treatment modalities including crisis intervention, individual and group work, and family therapy.
• Coordinate services with other components of the Substance Use Disorder Program.
• Maintain knowledge of aftercare rehabilitation and community treatment resources.
• Establish and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with veterans.
• Facilitate continuity of care through collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Serve as a liaison between veterans and community resources.
• Provide consultation and education to veterans and their families regarding community resources and VA benefits.
• Conduct case management services throughout the continuum of care.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Master's degree in social work from an accredited school.
• Licensed or certified to independently practice social work at the master's degree level.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and assess psychosocial needs.
