About the position

The Social Worker position at Minot AFB is designed to provide comprehensive social work services within operational Air Force squadrons. The role is integral to the Task Force TRUE NORTH (TFTN) program, focusing on enhancing human performance, building resiliency, and improving unit mission effectiveness through clinical and administrative duties. The Social Worker will engage in psychosocial assessments, develop interventions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the mental health and performance of airmen.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and participate in squadron activities to identify psychosocial stressors and barriers to optimal human performance.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to mitigate psychosocial stressors and optimize airmen performance.
  • Provide psychological consultation, education, and training to military commanders and mental health professionals.
  • Conduct psychodiagnostic assessments and provide evidence-based psychotherapy.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current state licensure as a clinical social worker.
  • Experience in providing mental health services in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of military culture and the unique challenges faced by military personnel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense and Air Force regulations regarding mental health services.
  • Certification in evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
