About The Position

The Sod Farm Worker position involves manual labor tasks related to the cultivation and maintenance of sod on a farm. Workers will be responsible for various duties including planting, watering, mowing, and harvesting sod, as well as operating farm vehicles and equipment. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

• No prior experience required.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs repetitively throughout the workday.
• Must be able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and various weather conditions.

• Valid driver's license (not a hiring requirement but necessary for operating company vehicles).

Responsibilities

• Cuts, rolls, and stacks sod by hand.
• Plants, waters, sprays, and weeds sod.
• Mows grass and operates harvesters and forklifts to load pallets of turf.
• Loads and unloads crops and farm materials.
• Operates and performs minor maintenance on farm vehicles and equipment.
• Performs farm, field, and shed sanitation duties.
• Directs and monitors the work of casual and seasonal help during planting and harvesting.
• Operates farm vehicles to haul crops and transport other farmworkers.
