About the position

The Software Analyst II position is responsible for assisting in the analysis, design, and implementation of software solutions. This role is crucial in supporting the research and development efforts of USAARL by ensuring effective utilization of software tools and technologies. The position requires obtaining and maintaining a Secret clearance and is 100% onsite in Fort Novosel, AL.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical services for the development of intranet user interface for modifying/editing data in the database and web user interface for external users to access the database.
• Develop and integrate data-driven software applications, web-based applications, and user interfaces for a relational database, including design, coding, and testing.
• Ensure implementation of industry and military best practices in website and online interfaces and applications, including security and other protocols.
• Develop and update documentation required, such as standard operating procedures and data dictionaries, to operate and maintain each interface.
• Evaluate and recommend software and equipment to optimize efficiency of applications developed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three to four (3-4) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Demonstrate experience in system architecture, system maintenance, system administration, .NET, Web Services, JavaScript, HTML, Visual Basic (and its variations), Visual Studio, Web User Interface Design, Security Principles, Object-Oriented Design, and/or Microsoft products for application/interface/database.
• Requires oral and written communication skills.
• Must obtain and maintain certification necessary to perform services in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M and AR 25-2.
