Polaris Industries, Inc. is looking for a Software Application Architect to work in an exciting, fast-paced environment. As an Application Architect on the Polaris team, you would be dedicated to an agile product team where you would be responsible for overseeing the design and development of software applications along with collaborating with other Application Architects and Solution Architects to execute consistent design patterns and principles ensuring that enterprise application design standards are maintained. We are looking for a high-level of technical expertise along with excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills. We require an individual that has experience leading and mentoring development teams along with a keen understanding of the latest software technologies and development practices with an eye for the future state of technology.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to established enterprise architecture principles, standards, and patterns.
  • Design, develop and deploy dynamically scalable, highly available, and reliable applications.
  • Develop applications in an object-oriented environment using application development technologies including web services (Web API, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus), C#, .Net, HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, jQuery, MVC.
  • Support, maintain and administer deployed solutions.
  • Proactively monitor and prevent technical debt (e.g. software obsolescence; security vulnerabilities).
  • Provide technical leadership to the application development team by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities.
  • Complete applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
  • Assist in creating guidelines and best practices for website application development.
  • Ensure software development meets requirements of quality, security, and extensibility.
  • Leverage research to suggest software development trends and patterns.
  • Formulate system scope and objectives to create or modify an application.
  • Plan and design information structure and architecture.
  • Define site objectives by analyzing user requirements, envisioning system features and functionality.
  • Responsible for application performance KPIs.
  • Partner with Solution Architects to design solutions that require cross-team collaboration.
  • Recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.
  • Attend and participate in agile team product development meetings.
  • Observe and recommend areas for process improvement.
  • Ensure that Definition of Done checklist items are completed for each story.
  • Work with users and staff to resolve business problems.
  • Collaborate with product owners, designers, internal stakeholders, to refine the user experience.
  • Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools.
  • Update job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience in web application design and development working with Visual Studio, C#, MVC, and ASP.NET.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Application Architect.
  • Azure Cloud services including Functions, Storage, Data Factory, and App Service.
  • Caching provider experience i.e. Redis.
  • Strong back-end development skills and knowledge of industry integration architecture patterns (e.g. API, Pub/Sub).
  • Significant experience with C# in a MVC environment.
  • Ability to clearly illustrate application designs to team members.
  • Experience building cross browser applications in an object-oriented environment using application development technologies including web services, JavaScript, DHTML, XML, Rest and CSS.
  • Relational Databases developing against SQL Server.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven, demanding environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a highly cohesive and collaborative team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
