The Software Applications Developer III (ORACLE PL SQL) at Texas A&M University System serves as the technical lead for specific software development projects or services. This role involves providing technical oversight to ensure compliance with established technical standards and coordinating the technical activities of a software development project team. The developer will be responsible for completing various reports and summaries for management and users, including project status reports, problem reports, and progress summaries. This position requires a strong commitment to quality assurance and adherence to programming standards, ensuring that all software applications meet the necessary requirements and function effectively within the organization. In this role, the developer will engage in system analysis, researching and analyzing business and technical problems faced by Student Business Services. They will design, recommend, and implement technical solutions to address these challenges. The position also involves application development, where the developer will create complex database modules and interfaces, utilizing personal judgment and decision-making skills throughout the process. Additionally, the developer will conduct software quality assurance to ensure that system standards are followed and that both programming standards and application standards are adhered to. The developer will also be responsible for application design, maintaining Accounts Receivable database information for billing, refunding, and reporting purposes. They will conduct impact analyses of changes in processes and program simulations to assess the potential impact of policy or procedure changes based on available data. Furthermore, the role includes database design, where the developer will work with the database administrator to aid in database development and design, upgrade current database processes, and analyze existing data structures to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements. The position requires collaboration with clients and functional analysts to determine automation specifications and develop detailed system design documents for client approval. The developer will analyze, design, develop, and maintain software applications and database system changes necessary to automate and redesign business processes. They will also serve as a software lead in the peer review of custom Accounts Receivable code and provide the necessary system documentation required by Student Business Services.
