About the position

The Software Application Test Engineer will be a key member of the Regional Applications Agile Release Train (ART) for the Missile Defense National Team, focusing on Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC). This role involves participating in software design and peer reviews, developing test specifications, and executing both manual and automated test analyses in an integrated environment. The engineer will coordinate lab resources, test results, and verification status with the C2BMC program and its customers, ensuring the integrity and performance of software applications.

Responsibilities

• Participate in software design and peer reviews.
• Develop test specifications and infrastructure.
• Execute manual and automated test analysis of C2BMC implementation.
• Support operations including internal messaging and failover processing.
• Coordinate lab resources, test results, and verification status with the C2BMC program and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or significant professional experience; Master's degree is highly desired.
• 3+ years of experience in testing and evaluating software-intensive systems in various test environments, utilizing Agile development.
• Active Secret Clearance and must be a US Citizen.
• Strong self-starter capable of problem-solving with assistance from other engineers and developers.
• Experience with Agile development processes.
• Automated testing for requirement verification and performance assessment.
• Conduct post-processing and analysis of collected data, developing action plans based on analysis.
• Document software deficiency reports and present analysis results and plans of action.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a small technical team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a DevSecOps environment.
• Security+ certification is extremely desirable.
• Experience with DoD test methodologies and functional capability-related test planning and execution.
• Experience in characterizing system or software performance using quantitative methods.
