About the position

The Software Architect will lead a major modernization effort for a life insurance risk assessment platform, transitioning from a legacy .NET/SQL system to a microservice-based, event-driven architecture hosted in AWS. This role requires strategic architectural design experience, particularly in regulated industries such as insurance or healthcare, and a strong understanding of modern software design principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design and modernization of the life insurance risk assessment platform.
• Develop and implement microservices using C# and .NET Core.
• Engage in strategic design initiatives to enhance system architecture.
• Code and develop solutions as part of the modernization effort.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of the new architecture.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of microservice design and architecture.
• Experience developing microservices with C#, .NET Core.
• Experience with RabbitMQ, MSMQ, or Amazon SQS.
• Strong experience with AWS; certifications are a plus.
• Strong SQL experience.
• Knowledge of Event Driven Architecture.
• Experience with Service Oriented Architecture.
• Familiarity with SOLID design principles.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with Kafka.
• UI development with modern JavaScript, preferably React.
• Experience with Java.
• Integration Architecture experience.
