About the position

Rite-Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Software Architect / Solution Developer to lead the development of a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution within a Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) architecture. This role involves hands-on research and integration of various technologies, focusing on creating a scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure that enhances flexibility and security.

Responsibilities

• Design a SDDC-friendly architecture solution that abstracts compute, storage, and network resources from physical hardware.
• Implement architectural principles that foster hardware and software decoupling.
• Lead the design and development of a scalable, resilient, and secure PaaS solution.
• Manage computing resources and scalable storage solutions.
• Configure dynamic networks and implement robust cybersecurity measures.
• Ensure comprehensive logging and monitoring capabilities are in place.
• Maximize the use of open standard technologies.
• Conduct hands-on research and experimentation with COTS and open-source technologies.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of Software Development experience.
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technology field.
• Strong understanding of SDDC architecture principles and containerization technologies.
• Experience with Kubernetes-based open-source platforms such as OpenStack, OpenShift, and RKE2.
• Proficiency in cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with COTS and open-source technologies relevant to logging, monitoring, computing, storage, and network infrastructure.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work and thrive in both individual and team-based development environments.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret-level security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with service mesh technologies, identity and certification management, and DevSecOps Integration.
• Knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV).
• Experience with cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Background in microservices architecture and related patterns.
