About the position

Maximus is seeking a Software Architect to provide advanced expertise in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions for a federal client's critical operations. This role involves shaping the architectural vision and guiding the development of complex software systems, ensuring adherence to best practices and design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate business needs into software architecture solutions.
• Design and lead the development of high-level and detailed software architectures, ensuring scalability, modularity, and maintainability.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to achieve the desired software architecture goals.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural best practices and design patterns.
• Lead code reviews, architectural reviews, and ensure the implementation aligns with the architectural vision.
• Define and enforce coding standards, practices, and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across software projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand system requirements and constraints, and design solutions that meet both technical and business needs.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and recommend their incorporation into software designs.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes, methodologies, and practices.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance is required.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
• 7 years of experience as a software architect or similar experience.
• Experience in cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and containerization.
