About the position

The Software Architect at ALG Vacations will lead the technology direction of the product, integrating legacy and emerging technologies to meet business and customer needs. This role involves collaboration with technology leadership, providing technical guidance to development teams, ensuring software quality and security, and evaluating new technologies. The architect will also document design specifications and support system troubleshooting, all while adhering to Hyatt's core values.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technology leadership to understand the overall vision and architecture.
• Provide technical input into business decisions, including feasibility and future roadmaps.
• Communicate technical direction and guidance to development teams.
• Ensure software meets all security, quality, and extensibility requirements.
• Evaluate current or emerging technologies for cost, portability, compatibility, or usability.
• Provide technical guidance or support for development or troubleshooting of systems.
• Document design specifications, installation instructions, and other system-related information.

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrable experience as a Software Architect.
• Experience in applications developed in .NET and MS SQL Server.
• Experience in Kafka, Apigee, or related technologies is a plus.
• Experience implementing web-based applications in Azure or other Cloud environments.
• Experience with cost-effective, adaptable, and scalable software solutions.
• Experience managing risks associated with design decisions and security practices.
• Experience defining core system components and their relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and creative with a focus on best practices.
• Strong blend of technical and people skills to interact with business leadership.
• Ability to work independently and in a group setting.
• Solid database design skills preferred.
• Willingness to work outside normal business hours for international collaboration.
• Willingness for international travel (less than 5% of time).
• Fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
