About the position

Maximus is seeking a Software Architect to provide advanced expertise in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions for a federal client's critical operations. This role is pivotal in shaping the architectural vision and guiding the development of complex software systems, ensuring adherence to best practices and alignment with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate business needs into software architecture solutions.
• Design and lead the development of high-level and detailed software architectures, ensuring scalability, modularity, and maintainability.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to achieve the desired software architecture goals.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural best practices and design patterns.
• Lead code reviews, architectural reviews, and ensure the implementation aligns with the architectural vision.
• Define and enforce coding standards, practices, and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across software projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand system requirements and constraints, and design solutions that meet both technical and business needs.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and recommend their incorporation into software designs.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes, methodologies, and practices.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance is required.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
• Candidates must be U.S. citizens with no dual citizenship due to agency and contract requirements.
• 7 years of experience as a software architect or similar experience is required.
• Experience in cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and containerization is preferred.
