About the position

The Software Architect at Pattern will play a crucial role in leading software engineering functions, focusing on the development, release, and maintenance of software applications and systems that align with business needs. This position is integral to creating and promoting standards used throughout the company, working within a small, autonomous team to impact significant revenue streams. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration across various teams to deliver high-quality SaaS products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead software engineers to deliver innovative, high-quality SaaS products.
  • Work cross-functionally with other roles and business teams to define, deliver, and support SaaS software and services.
  • Guide software engineers through the planning, design, coding, delivery, and support phases.
  • Own and continually improve the throughput and stability of product delivery and application lifecycle for SaaS applications.
  • Translate complex and ambiguous situations into clear, actionable plans for your team.
  • Design and implement highly scalable, secure, and high-performance multi-tenant systems.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal teams and external partners on technical details.
  • Train, develop, and retain top engineering talent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or applicable engineering or science field.
  • 10+ years of development experience with 3+ years of architecture experience in SaaS environments.
  • Strong proficiency in multiple coding and programming languages relevant to SaaS development.
  • Experience with database design and data modeling, particularly in cloud-based databases.
  • In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and relevant technologies in a SaaS context.
  • Excellent understanding of design patterns and architectural styles.
  • Proficient knowledge of agile software operation and development designs.
  • Strong soft skills, including attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
