About the position

As a Software Architect at Cove, you will play a crucial role in shaping the software architecture and tools used by the product and engineering team. You will design, build, and operate the software platform, ensuring a great user experience while supporting the rapid growth of the company. This position requires a mix of hands-on implementation, collaboration with feature teams, and strategic planning to align architecture with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, develop, and operate our SaaS platform.
• Evolve and scale our platform to accommodate customer- and team growth.
• Drive technical projects and initiatives and coordinate with developers and product managers on other teams.
• Create a welcoming environment where developers are empowered to make their own decisions and are not afraid to make mistakes.
• Participate in on-call rotation for the platform team.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software development.
• Excellent knowledge and experience with SaaS software architecture design patterns.
• Excellent communication of architecture ideas and designs to the team.
• Experience designing and scaling Event Driven Systems (e.g. SQS, Kafka, Rabbit MQ, etc.).
• Understanding of the architectural and compliance demands of an enterprise SaaS application.
• Experience evolving architecture stacks over several years.
• Experience developing, testing, and monitoring server-less architecture and/or micro-services.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Experience with load and latency testing of APIs.
• Experience scaling backend infrastructure including server management, hosting, deployment, and CI/CD.
• Experience working in a remote team.
