About the position

The Software Architect will join Zscaler's Data Analytics - Business Insights team, responsible for building scalable distributed data analytics applications that provide actionable business insights. This role involves leading the product development lifecycle, from requirements research to deployment, while also researching new technologies to enhance product directions and ensuring project delivery in collaboration with various teams.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable distributed Data Analytics applications to provide actionable business insights.
• Lead all aspects of the product development lifecycle including requirements research, design, implementation, code reviews, unit testing, documentation, POCs, deployment, and continuing engineering.
• Research, investigate, and evaluate new technologies to enhance product directions.
• Partner with teams to ensure that the project is delivered in its entirety.
• Recommend and maintain technical design methodologies, processes, and standards.
• Estimate complex projects and help implement project plans.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in Software engineering with 5+ years of proven experience as a Technical Lead/Architect within the Data and Analytics industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proficient in Java programming and distributed application development.
• Experience in data modeling and database design with strong knowledge of query engines like Hive/KQL/SQL.
• Experience in Cloud Big data technologies like Azure Data Explore, Spark, Hive, S3, Snowflake.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of statistics and machine learning.
• Experience in building AI based data analytics Applications.
• Experience in building large scale data analytics solutions in Security and/or Networking space.
