About the position

The Senior Software Engineer, Electrical Engineering role at Daimler Truck North America is a cross-functional position that involves collaboration with various teams globally. The engineer will focus on improving Electrical Engineering documentation and release processes, identifying gaps in current tools, and designing innovative solutions. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address business and technology problems related to Electrical Engineering documentation and release processes.
  • Identify gaps in current tools and work with partner teams to design effective solutions.
  • Influence and design system architecture across multiple product and technology spaces.
  • Lead and mentor other engineers in the team.
  • Own the end-to-end design of major deliverables and work closely with Software Developers to execute them.
  • Guide the team on software development best practices and set examples through personal solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer or similar role in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of software development best practices and system architecture design.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design innovative solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cutting-edge solutions in sustainability and future driving technology.
  • Familiarity with electric, hydrogen, and autonomous vehicle technologies.
