About the position

The Software Asset Management Analyst at Veracity Engineering plays a crucial role in supporting government agency asset management tools and ensuring compliance with software licensing agreements. This position involves collaborating with various IT groups to deliver exceptional customer service while managing software-related requests and maintaining accurate software license records. The analyst will also be responsible for educating stakeholders on software practices and policies, as well as continuously improving asset management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and management of government agency asset management tools.
  • Utilize standard IT Service Management (ITSM) tools (e.g., BMC Remedy, ServiceNow).
  • Process software-related end-user requests (new requests, changes, upgrades, etc.).
  • Ensure software license contracts and agreements, software licenses, and installations are accurately reflected.
  • Review software compliance measures based on existing licensing agreements.
  • Link software license records to the correct hardware device.
  • Research and recommend appropriate software for business requirements.
  • Coordinate with IT groups to meet service level agreements (SLA).
  • Develop positive relationships with business and other functions at all levels.
  • Respond to IT and business customer queries regarding licensing, support, and cost analysis.
  • Educate IT and business customers on practices and policies.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent IT services to business users.
  • Manage service desk tickets and internal IT tasks effectively.
  • Assist in implementing and improving IT Software Asset Management policies and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related Information Technology field (or five years of relevant experience).
  • Minimum three to six years of Tier II/III IT Support experience.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication.
  • Analytical thinker who is metrics-driven.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability.
  • Proficiency in organizing and managing multiple priorities and projects.
  • Customer service focus with a commitment to high performance and satisfaction.
