About the position

This role is pivotal in enhancing our automation infrastructure and supporting the software development lifecycle across various systems, including aircraft software, simulated environments, and laboratory setups. The successful candidate will engage in a range of responsibilities that encompass system and software design, collaboration, and the improvement of automation tooling and infrastructure. As a Software Automation Engineer, you will be tasked with designing, developing, and leveraging a mix of open-source, commercial, and proprietary software to bolster our automation capabilities. Your work will involve developing, integrating, supporting, and debugging software, as well as troubleshooting and maintaining CI/CD build pipelines. You will also play a crucial role in supporting our virtual development labs and aircraft software processes, ensuring that our systems operate seamlessly and efficiently. Participation in daily scrums, sprint reviews, and technical demonstrations will be essential to your role, fostering a collaborative environment where ideas can flourish and innovation can thrive. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and leverage open-source, commercial and in-house software to support automation infrastructure
  • Develop, integrate, support, and debug software
  • Troubleshoot and support CI/CD build pipelines
  • Support the virtual development labs and aircraft software processes
  • Attend and participate in daily scrums, sprint reviews and technical demos

Requirements

  • Experience programming in Python
  • Experience with Linux/Unix
  • Experience with CI tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Bitbucket
  • Experience with automation tools and development

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Real-time simulation software development and integration
  • Experience programming in C++
  • Experience programming with ReactJS
  • Experience developing software on Linux
  • A strong interest in supporting software development for airborne systems
  • Experience supporting aircraft build pipelines
