About the position

The Software Automation Engineer/SDET will be part of a dynamic cross-functional team, focusing on both automation and manual testing activities to support the client's production environment. This role requires strong automation skills, particularly with databases and performance testing, as well as experience with Jenkins scripting. The position involves working onsite once a week initially, transitioning to quarterly meetings after acclimatization, and requires participation in monthly software release activities on Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Support the client's production environment with both automation and manual testing activities.
• Write and update Jenkins scripts and new Jenkins code.
• Manage and utilize front-end and back-end automated testing tools such as Selenium and SoapUI.
• Create, modify, and maintain test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and automated test scripts.
• Participate in software release activities once a month on Sundays.
• Work onsite once a week initially, transitioning to quarterly meetings after acclimatization.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or 4 additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of experience in an SDET position with knowledge of manual testing procedures.
• Experience in writing and updating Jenkins scripts and new Jenkins code.
• Strong background in using and managing automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, SoapUI).
• Experience with relational database management systems, particularly DB2 UDB and DB2 mainframe; knowledge of MS SQL Server or Oracle is a plus.
• Proven experience with Agile and Waterfall software development life cycle (SDLC) models.
• Experience with defect tracking and management tools (e.g., ALM, AGM, JIRA).
• Experience in multiple environments and/or on multiple operating systems (i.e., Windows, Linux, UNIX, Mainframe).
