About the position

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic data enthusiast to utilize creative problem-solving skills that will drive efficiency in processes, tools, and project execution. As a key role within the Integrated Business Planning organization, the Software Data Science and Analytics engineer will provide data aggregation and analysis which affords Dematic to make critical decisions around sourcing of projects globally. This role collaborates with our central data science team in data translations, data aggregation, and dashboarding output from different data sources. This person will serve as a liaison between other Dematic functions to maximize efficiency, create visibility, and bridge to execute project demand across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the project backlog as well as sales pipeline, converting data into information for visibility into demand shifts, technology needs, and project roles.
  • Engage with other Dematic functions to build the data warehouse and analyze capacity constraints and demand needs.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Produce dashboards and charts summarizing project execution metrics and business decision variables.
  • Interpret data trends, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports and analysis.
  • Identify data cleansing opportunities within source systems and suggest improvements for data accuracy.
  • Understand the practices and methodologies of project departments and serve as an advisor to group members.
  • Perform analysis of capacity and demand to develop objective scenarios for project execution.
  • Conduct periodic status checks to assess progress against plans.
  • Collect data that accurately represents project requirements.
  • Stay abreast of current and future operating strategies and technologies by attending conferences and seminars.
  • Travel may be required (up to 15%).

Requirements

  • BS/BA in related discipline (Software Engineering, Data Science) with 5+ years of successful experience in data analytics.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI is a must.
  • Knowledge of SQL, VBA, Python, Alteryx, and Snowflake.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems & underlying data sources, specifically SAP.
  • Proven history of successful problem-solving.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a high-growth, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to present data findings in simple and easy-to-understand ways.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and business processes to drive results and continuous improvement.
  • Agile technique knowledge/experience.
