About the position

The Software/Database Developer III position at Ishpi Information Technologies, Inc. involves designing, developing, engineering, and maintaining systems to enhance organizational efficiency for the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Navy (DON). The role focuses on creating new development solutions and re-engineering existing ones, ensuring interoperability in low code platforms such as Appian and ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

  • Create new development solutions and re-engineer existing solutions to improve automated functionality.
  • Implement code and document all software development actions.
  • Ensure interoperability in Appian and ServiceNow low code platforms.
  • Translate application requirements into fully functional software solutions.
  • Participate in design discussions and code reviews.
  • Develop and maintain unit tests for all coded functionalities.
  • Review code and data for security vulnerabilities and maintain safety standards.
  • Assist in building the database based on approved design and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related discipline, or a minimum of 12 years of related experience.
  • Five years of experience in required software development technologies.
  • Experience in translating application requirements to functional software solutions.
  • Experience in design discussions and code reviews.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining unit tests.
  • Experience in reviewing code and data for security vulnerabilities.
  • Experience in building databases based on approved design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior Navy related experience preferred.
  • Experience in Agile methodology for the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Familiarity with solution design, architecture, and UX in low coding environments.
  • Experience in creating process models based on complex workflows.
  • Experience in debugging Appian objects.
  • Knowledge of standard scripting languages and object-oriented programming languages, including Java, SQL, and HTML.
