About the position

The Software Development Engineer in AI/ML at Amazon Robotics will play a crucial role in operationalizing advanced Foundation Models to enhance the capabilities of Amazon's extensive fleet of mobile robots. This position involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and maintain platforms for deploying machine learning models, creating self-service tools, and mentoring junior engineers, all while driving innovation in AI applications for robotics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain key platforms for Foundation Models and ML Models for mobile robot applications.
• Investigate design approaches, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility with team members.
• Create self-service tools for building applications on top of Foundation Models.
• Collaborate with Applied Scientists and Data Engineers to process large datasets and optimize machine learning models.
• Design and code solutions for broadly defined problems.
• Provide tooling and infrastructure to support cutting-edge research in AI and Foundation Models.
• Mentor other engineers and positively influence team culture.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• AI/ML experience.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics, or natural language processing.
• Experience with AWS technologies.
• Experience in high-performance computing and scaling distributed systems.
