About the position

The AWS internship program offers students a full-time opportunity to work on innovative projects in computer architecture, machine learning, and silicon design. Interns will engage in hands-on experiences that contribute to the development of state-of-the-art solutions, bridging the gap between software and hardware teams. This role is designed for those who are eager to tackle complex challenges and drive performance improvements in AWS hardware platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Accelerate large-scale machine learning workloads across algorithms, software, and hardware.
  • Interface between software and hardware teams to align silicon capabilities with application requirements.
  • Drive performance improvements on existing AWS hardware platforms.
  • Propose, evaluate, and develop hardware optimizations for future product generations.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or related fields, with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and September 2026.
  • Knowledge or experience in computer architecture and silicon design.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C++, Rust, and Python.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with machine learning applications and performance tuning on accelerators like GPUs or TPUs.
  • Experience with RTL coding using Verilog or SystemVerilog.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to present ideas clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Technical fluency in discussing architectural concepts and algorithms.
