About the position

Amazon Lab126 is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to automate next-generation platforms. This role involves collaborating with various teams to implement test automation and infrastructure development, ensuring high-quality products that impact customers and the business. The SDET will own the vision for test infrastructures, build frameworks for reliable testing, and coach other engineers to maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Understand how all elements of the system software ecosystem work together and develop QA approaches and tools that fit the overall strategy.
• Responsible for development of test strategies and creation of appropriate test harnesses.
• Provide test infrastructure to enable engineering teams to test and own quality of the services.
• Be a stakeholder of the release to ensure defects are fixed per SLA and end customer experience is protected and improved.
• Develop and automate test plans, monitoring and reporting on test execution and quality metrics.
• Coordinate with offshore Quality Service team on test execution and sign-off.

Requirements

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development testing experience.
• 1+ years of test automation frameworks and tools building experience.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
• Experience in penetration testing and exploitability-focused vulnerability assessment.
• Experience in platform-level security mitigations and hardening for Linux and Windows.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance in a database environment.
• Experience with security in service-oriented architectures and web services.
