About the position

The AWS Infrastructure Services team is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring that the cloud remains operational and efficient. This role involves building and managing a team of engineers to develop a highly available service that serves AWS and its customers, while maintaining high standards for safety and security. The position emphasizes collaboration across various teams and a commitment to an inclusive culture that values diverse experiences.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a team of strong engineers responsible for a new product.
• Collaborate with product managers and TPMs to develop a highly available service.
• Ensure adherence to AWS operational best practices.
• Mentor and grow engineers within the team.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems.
• 8+ years of experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
• Knowledge of engineering practices for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in communicating with users and senior leadership to collect requirements and describe product features.
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing software engineering teams.
