Ashland Specialty Ingredients is seeking a Software Development and Application Specialist to join our Diagnostic Films business at our Bridgewater, NJ location. This role is significant within the company and the commercial function, reporting directly to the Business Development Manager. The position is hybrid, averaging three days in the office, and is ideal for individuals who are passionate about problem-solving and collaboration. The successful candidate will be responsible for presenting software to current and prospective customers through live and online sessions, troubleshooting and debugging existing software, and addressing customer issues. In this role, you will issue FilmQA Pro Software License Keys to purchased license holders and trial license requesters. You will collaborate with management, departments, and customers to identify end-user requirements and specifications, design algorithms and flowcharts for new software programs, and produce efficient and elegant code based on these requirements. Testing and deploying programs and applications will be a key part of your responsibilities, as well as compiling and assessing user feedback to improve software performance. You will also develop technical documentation to guide future software development projects and actively contribute to organizational goals by taking initiative and focusing on performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience, along with 1-3 years of related work experience and 1-2 years of experience working with C Sharp and Python. An interest in medical device technology and the ability to problem-solve while interfacing with customer issues are essential. The role requires a demonstrated commitment to responsible and ethical behavior, as well as the ability to drive greater value for the company through understanding the business and making complex decisions.
