About the position

The Software Developer Architect/System Engineering Advisor role at Absolute Business Solutions Corp (ABSC) involves supporting the Naval Special Warfare Command (NSWC) in modernizing its Unmanned Systems (UxS) portfolio through advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), autonomy, and robotics. The position focuses on developing requirements for collaborative autonomy software and ensuring compliance with responsible AI standards. The role requires a blend of technical expertise in software architecture, AI, and system engineering, with a significant emphasis on collaboration and innovation in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Government personnel in assessing AI-powered software solutions for next-generation sensors integration.
  • Review applied research and scientific studies related to NSW requirements.
  • Analyze and evaluate concepts, technologies, systems, and subsystems.
  • Assist in developing operational concepts and tactics for UxS and sensor capabilities.
  • Design and develop software requirements for AI-based products, including architectures and APIs.
  • Assess functionality of software releases and components to inform development processes.
  • Maintain and guide the development of common libraries and tools for multiple teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to data scientists, UX designers, and developers for cohesive software designs.
  • Document requirements and specifications, reviewing documentation from other teams and vendors.
  • Optimize software designs and architectures to meet performance requirements.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Master's Degree in an IT-related field or 10+ years of software development experience.
  • Proficient technical writing skills.
  • Experience in developing, modifying, or integrating software at the enterprise level.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment and/or Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) platforms.
  • Experience working on DevSecOps Pipelines.
  • Experience architecting and delivering complex software projects with multiple modules and APIs.
  • Working knowledge of Agile Software Development.
  • Hands-on experience in developing a Platform as a Service (PaaS).
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Kubernetes, Computer Vision, Linux Kernel drivers, Software Defined Radio, API gateways, and ML/AI training pipelines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with C, C++, Rust, Assembler (ARM, X86), Java, CUDA, and developing compilers.
  • Knowledge of OAuth/SAML and TLS/SSL.
