About the position

This position involves collaborating with talented developers to design and develop services that integrate analytics data with partner services, enhancing customer value. The role emphasizes maintaining platform service stewardship through design reviews, coding standards, and quality improvement practices, including code reviews and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop services that integrate analytics data with partner services.
• Maintain stewardship of platform services through design reviews and coding standards.
• Embrace quality improvement through code reviews and unit testing.
• Collaborate with QA engineers to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Work in cross-functional project teams to solve challenging business problems.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience developing in one or more object-oriented languages with a solid understanding of object-oriented design.
• 2+ years of experience developing high-performance, highly available, and scalable applications on the JVM.
• 1+ years of experience developing in Scala or other functional programming languages such as Haskell, F#, or Erlang.
• Experience with Akka or similar actor-based programming frameworks.
• Familiarity with modern internet APIs, protocols, and patterns including REST, JSON, and XML.
• Experience with test-first development and unit testing tools such as JUnit and NUnit.
• Ability to work in an agile development environment with aggressive release schedules.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience designing and implementing service-oriented architectures.
• Experience developing globally distributed SaaS solutions.
• Familiarity with Zookeeper.
• Familiarity with ZeroMQ, Kafka, or other message queue technologies.
• Experience with DevOps deployment tools like Chef.
• Knowledge of agile practices and methodologies.
