About the position

Join Siemens Healthineers as a Software Developer / Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in pioneering breakthroughs in healthcare. You will collaborate with cross-departmental stakeholders, including engineering and manufacturing teams, to provide support and sustaining solutions related to complex Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of MES, including process control, material sequencing, data acquisition, analysis and reporting, device history, personnel accounts, permissions, training, and equipment integration. In this role, you will be expected to leverage your extensive technical knowledge, with a minimum of 8 years of related experience in the development, integration, implementation, and support of complex Manufacturing Execution Systems. A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. You will also be responsible for software application design utilizing web interfaces, data acquisition, display, and reporting methods. Additionally, you will create technical documentation, including design and validation protocols, and process instructions, while employing methodical troubleshooting and analysis techniques. Your ability to plan and execute within development cycles and schedules will be crucial, as will your excellent communication skills, which will facilitate interaction across various departments and levels within the organization. This position is office-based and offers a permanent contract, allowing you to immerse yourself in a collaborative and diverse team dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes globally.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-departmental stakeholders such as engineering and manufacturing to provide support and sustaining solutions relative to complex Manufacturing Execution Systems.
  • Design software applications utilizing web interfaces, data acquisition, display, and reporting methods.
  • Create technical documentation including design & validation protocols, process instructions, etc.
  • Employ methodical troubleshooting and analysis techniques to resolve issues.
  • Plan and execute development cycles and schedules effectively.
  • Communicate effectively across departments and with various levels and disciplines.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience in development, integration, implementation, and support of complex Manufacturing Execution Systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of LAMP software stack to create web applications.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience using relational databases.
  • Familiarity with software versioning tools such as CVS or Git.
  • Understanding of networking protocols and communication formats such as TCP/IP, Client/Server communications, HTTP(s), JSON, XML, SSH, etc.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
