About the position

PeopleTec, Inc. is currently seeking a Software Developer / Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location. As an employee-owned company, we are dedicated to hiring and developing technology professionals and employing their skillsets on client projects across the United States. Our expertise lies in full stack development, cloud DevSecOps, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Business Intelligence (BI), Data Science, and Machine Learning (ML) in both federal and commercial sectors. We are looking for a mid to senior level Software Developer/Engineer who is exceptionally motivated and self-starting, ready to tackle challenging problems and design solutions that interact with a wide array of technologies, including cloud database frameworks and web application interfaces. In this role, you will support all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle and contribute to various aspects of application development, including both front-end and back-end development, building APIs, and database design. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable APIs that power our products and services. Understanding customer requirements and designing end-to-end solutions to address them will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will utilize programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/Typescript, C#, and others to develop front-end applications that adhere to industry-standard design patterns, development methodologies, and deployment models. Additionally, you will design and implement solutions that enhance and execute business processes for our customers and stakeholders. Collaboration with product engineers will be essential to innovate, develop, and enhance UI design and implementation. You will also contribute to unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure the quality of development, as well as investigate and identify bugs, determining appropriate fixes as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Support all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Contribute to multiple aspects of application development, including front-end and back-end development, building APIs, and database design.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable APIs that power our products and services.
• Understand customer requirements and design end-to-end solutions to address them.
• Use Python, JavaScript/Typescript, C#, and/or other programming languages to develop front-end applications that follow industry-standard design patterns, development methodologies, and deployment models.
• Design and implement solutions that improve and execute business processes of customers and stakeholders.
• Work closely with product engineers to innovate, develop, and enhance UI design and implementation.
• Contribute to unit, integration, and end-to-end tests that back the quality of development.
• Investigate and identify bugs as well as determine appropriate fixes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong teamwork and organizational skills with an ability to effectively communicate, adapt, multitask, and navigate a complex and rapidly changing environment.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work.
• Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Agile software development using Scrum.
• Knowledge of Azure and/or AWS cloud technologies.
• Experience with Git, containerized development and deployment (Docker and Kubernetes), and DevSecOps processes.
• Proficiency with Javascript/Typescript, database technologies, and knowledge of frontend web technologies such as React, Vue, etc.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions under minimal supervision.
• Current DoD IAT Level 2 certification.
