About the position

BAE Systems, a top-ten prime contractor to the U.S. Department of Defense, is seeking experienced Software Developers to join our technology-based program supporting a key government customer. This program delivers Enterprise Computing engineering services with modern technology solutions that function both on customer premises and via remote Cloud services. As a mission-focused administrator, you will be expected to recognize issues, identify facts, define additional data that would be helpful, make assumptions as necessary, determine alternative approaches, evaluate alternatives, make recommendations, alter assumptions, rework solutions, and reflect on lessons learned. The Software Developer will develop new automation capabilities that utilize infrastructure as code best practices and establish a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. You will work closely with senior management and deliver weekly status updates to leadership. The role requires a strong understanding of cloud environments and DevOps practices, as well as the ability to document concepts of operations and standards of practice for tiered maintenance support. Responsibilities

  • Develop new automation capabilities utilizing infrastructure as code best practices.
  • Establish a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline.
  • Interface routinely with senior management and deliver weekly status updates to leadership.
  • Document concepts of operations and standards of practice for tiered maintenance support.
  • Architect, implement, or maintain solutions in the sponsor cloud environment.
  • Utilize various scripting languages to create final products per stakeholder requirements.

Requirements

  • At least eleven (11) years of experience in software development.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with Java and C Sharp (C#).
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools including release management, orchestration, and code repository tools such as Jira, Github, or Jenkins.
  • Experience documenting concepts of operations and standards of practice for tiered maintenance support.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Ansible and Powershell.
  • Familiarity with JavaPay.
