About the position

The R D Engineer II/Software Developer II at Ansys plays a crucial role in the development of software products and supporting systems. This position involves collaborating with a team of professionals to understand customer requirements and work closely with user experience researchers and designers to achieve development objectives. The role focuses on moderately complex development activities, particularly in desktop application software with an emphasis on the Graphical User Interface (GUI).

Responsibilities

• Perform moderately complex development activities, including design, implementation, maintenance, testing, and documentation of desktop application software, focusing on the Graphical User Interface.
• Understand and employ best practices in application software development.
• Conduct bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products, researching problems discovered by QA or product support and developing solutions.
• Translate User Experience design and requirements into application software products.
• Work under the general supervision of a development manager.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or other natural science disciplines with 2 years' experience or MS with exposure to Graphical User Interface design and development.
• Working experience in technical software development proven by academic, research, or industry projects.
• Good understanding and skills in object-oriented programming.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience developing desktop application software.
• Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio, C# and .NET.
• Experience with Microsoft's Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).
• Experience in C, C++.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team.
