About the position

The Software Developer II role at Lumen involves partnering in a team environment to design, develop, code, test, and debug new software or significant enhancements to existing software of moderate complexity. The position requires collaboration with team members and stakeholders to deliver effective software solutions while adhering to agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop reports and queries from multiple data warehouse database sources to assist requesting clients in decision making.
  • Analyze programming requests for integration with current applications.
  • Assist in grooming the solution with the engineering manager and team members based on requirements.
  • Develop code as per requirements during sprints, perform local testing, and review code with team members.
  • Participate in all scrum ceremonies and ensure agile processes are practiced for successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and impediments.
  • Enhance applications by identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing fixes.
  • Follow robust DevOps practices and use CI/CD for application deployment.
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain applications software.
  • Adapt to new technologies, particularly those providing reporting capabilities.
  • Participate in design and program walkthroughs, providing feedback to ensure technical quality.
  • Develop understanding of business processes, products, and metrics to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Adhere to all development processes to ensure appropriate workflow with onsite, remote, offshore, and contract resources.
  • Provide on-call support.

Requirements

  • Experience in application development using Java Microservices and Spring Boot framework.
  • Experience in developing REST APIs using microservice architecture and GraphQL.
  • Experience in developing applications that operate using Confluent Kafka.
  • Experience with RDBMS like Oracle, MySQL, SQL, and NoSQL.
  • Experience with Azure PostgreSQL.
  • Experience in implementing CI/CD, preferably using GitHub/Jenkins.
  • Effective collaboration skills with stakeholders and team members.
  • 3+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 1+ years of experience with a master's degree.
