About the position

The Software Developer II role at Lumen involves partnering in a team environment to design, develop, code, test, and debug new software or significant enhancements to existing software of moderate complexity. The position requires the application of principles, theories, and concepts to complete projects related to moderately complex software, while also ensuring adherence to development processes and collaboration with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Develop reports and queries from multiple data warehouse database sources to assist requesting clients in decision making.
  • Analyze programming requests for the purpose of assisting integration with current applications.
  • Assist in grooming the solution along with the engineering manager and team members based on the requirements.
  • Develop code as per the requirements during sprints, perform local testing, and review the code with team members.
  • Participate in all scrum ceremonies and ensure the agile process is practiced leading to a successful outcome.
  • Collaborate and help other team members resolve their issues/impediments.
  • Enhance the application by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations, and designing and implementing fixes.
  • Follow robust DevOps practices and use CI/CD practices deploying the application.
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain applications software.
  • Adapt to new technologies, particularly those providing reporting capabilities.
  • Participate in walk-through of designs and programs providing appropriate feedback to ensure the technical quality of an application and provide solutions to design and program issues.
  • Develop understanding of business processes, products, and metrics to better communicate and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Adhere to all development processes to ensure appropriate flow of work with onsite, remote, offshore, and contract resources.
  • Provide on-call support.

Requirements

  • Experience of application development using Java Microservices and Spring Boot framework
  • Experience in developing REST APIs using microservice architecture, GraphQL
  • Experience in developing apps that operate using Confluent Kafka
  • Experience in using RDBMS like Oracle, MySQL, SQL, NOSQL
  • Experience in Azure PostgreSQL
  • Experience in implementing CI/CD, preferably using GitHub/Jenkins
  • Effective collaboration skills with stakeholders and team members
  • 3+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 1+ years of experience with a master's degree
