About the position

Nakupuna Consulting is seeking a Software Developer III to join the software development team supporting the execution of a large size, multi-year contract to the Integrated Personnel and Pay System - Army (IPPS-A) Army Military Payroll (AMP). This position is critical as it involves extending the functionality of the PeopleSoft application to meet the objectives of the development team. The Software Developer III will be an integral part of an agile development team, responsible for designing technical solutions and collaborating with team members to overcome challenges and resolve issues. The role requires a proactive approach to sharing information and working collaboratively within and across teams to ensure project success. The Software Developer III will follow technical design specifications and utilize PeopleTools technology to extend PeopleSoft software functionality. This includes configuring modules in PeopleSoft to meet design specifications, providing estimates for work assignments, and documenting software configurations in the prescribed documentation tools. The developer will also conduct unit testing in accordance with defined quality engineering processes and engage in software development activities to support application enhancements and address system defects. Peer reviews of teammates' configurations and code will be a regular part of the role to ensure accuracy and alignment with the overall architecture and design. Additionally, the developer will be responsible for explaining technical approaches and code to team members and demonstrating software functionality to end users.

Responsibilities

  • Follow technical design specifications.
  • Extend PeopleSoft software functionality to meet design specifications using PeopleTools technology.
  • Configure modules in PeopleSoft software to meet design specifications.
  • Provide estimates for work assignments.
  • Document software configurations in prescribed documentation tool(s).
  • Conduct unit testing in line with defined quality engineering processes.
  • Conduct software development activities in support of application enhancements and system defects.
  • Conduct peer reviews on other teammates' configuration and code to ensure accuracy and alignment to overall architecture and design.
  • Explain technical approach and code to team members.
  • Demonstrate software functionality to end users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a Computer Software or Engineering major or 2 or more years of experience within the federal government, DoD, Army, or IC preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a computer software-related field required.
  • PeopleSoft PeopleTools and SQL knowledge required.
  • Strong communication skills required.
  • Certifications in PeopleSoft PeopleTools, and SAFe for Teams preferred.
  • Current Secret clearance required.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
