About the position

The Software Developer in Test I position at Abbott involves working within the Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure the quality of software products, particularly in the healthcare sector. The role focuses on software testing, including creating and executing test cases, performing exploratory testing, and developing automation scripts to maintain high-quality software releases. This position is crucial for supporting the development of innovative diabetes management technologies.

Responsibilities

• Complete software testing and activities in conjunction for user stories within the Agile SDLC process
• Review System Specifications/Requirements documents, user stories and create verification test cases
• Execute test cases and perform exploratory testing, system level end to end testing
• Develop test datasets and execute automation scripts to ensure application software releases are of high quality
• Investigate and report unexpected events, issues or software bugs and verify fixes
• Create verification and validation test plans, test reports, trace matrices and review with relevant stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in a scientific, technical, or engineering discipline
• 2 years' experience in Software Testing and/or Software Quality Assurance including coursework
• Experience testing mobile applications
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice-to-haves

• Medical Device experience strongly preferred
• Experience in an agile development environment preferred
• Experience with embedded systems and integration testing with external systems preferred
• Cyber security, medical mobile applications or cloud computing experience preferred
