About the position

Cribl is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their fast-growing, remote-first team. The role focuses on enhancing continuous testing systems, automating testing processes, and ensuring high-quality software delivery. The SDET will work closely with development teams to integrate testing early in the release cycle and will be responsible for identifying performance bottlenecks and communicating insights effectively across teams.

Responsibilities

• Integrate with, improve, and build upon continuous testing systems, testing automation, and reporting of quality metrics.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure proper test planning and execution is incorporated early in release cycles.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, spot anomalous system behavior, and determine root causes of issues.
• Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.

Requirements

• 3-5 years' experience as a Software Engineer or SDET with a Computer Science degree and/or relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Proficiency in coding across various languages, with a preference for JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience in designing test frameworks/suites and developing test automation for both frontend and backend.
• Familiarity with the Playwright framework is preferred.
• Experience designing and developing tools and tests for complex customer use cases.
• Experience collaborating with other teams such as Support, Sustaining, and Customer escalations.
• Understanding and/or experience working with data-intensive applications and/or data streams processing.
• Detail-oriented and dedicated to high-quality software; enjoys uncovering bugs.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
