About the position

The Software Developer Integration Engineer at I2X Technologies is responsible for developing and implementing integration solutions for various projects, particularly focusing on the JMT project using Kafka and Elastic platforms. This role involves integrating multiple data sources, managing Kafka clusters, automating the software lifecycle, and designing deployment pipelines. The position requires collaboration with virtual teams and offers opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic environment supporting federal government initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement integration solutions for the JMT project using Kafka and Elastic.
• Integrate data sources into Confluent (Kafka) and Elastic platforms.
• Develop Kafka system integrations and custom connectors.
• Deploy and manage Kafka clusters on Kubernetes in multi-site environments.
• Automate the full software lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Design and build application deployment pipelines using Kubernetes and Docker.

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in Kafka, Java, RESTful services, AWS, and full stack development.
• Active Interim Secret DoD Security clearance.
• Ability to obtain Security+ certification or equivalent within 14 days of start date.
• Software development experience with Python, Java, and SQL.
• Advanced understanding of event streaming and Kafka integration.
• Experience in application integration design and strong communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with text mining tools and techniques, including ELK Stack.
• Familiarity with CI/CD techniques and DevOps practices.
• Experience with BI tools like Kibana and Splunk.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes deployment and Agile methodologies.
• Experience developing and deploying software in a DoD environment.
