About the position

The D. E. Shaw group is seeking talented individuals to join their Software Development team as Software Developer Interns in New York for the Summer of 2025. This internship program is designed for students who are currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate program or a graduate degree program across all fields of study. The internship will last for 12 weeks, running from June to August 2025, and will provide interns with the opportunity to work closely with various trading groups, gaining valuable experience while contributing to real-world projects. Interns will collaborate with quants, developers, and senior staff, who will serve as mentors throughout the program, fostering an inclusive environment conducive to learning. Interns will be responsible for building tools for the analysis and trading of financial instruments, as well as designing and deploying real-time, scalable applications that support the firm's highly automated trading activities. The D. E. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate program or graduate degree program.

  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C/C++.
  • Interest in producing clean and efficient code.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others and work independently.

Benefits

  • Monthly base salary of $21,000.
