About the position

The Software Developer Intern position at ManTech focuses on developing operational machine learning applications using Python. The intern will work on high-visibility projects that involve AI/ML technologies, including deepfakes, geospatial segmentation, and natural language processing. The role emphasizes collaboration with machine learning experts and the development of reusable code for future applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and write code to turn machine learning algorithms into operational RESTful applications with a user-friendly GUI.
• Increase code reusability for future machine learning algorithms and applications.
• Collaborate with ManTech machine learning experts to incorporate their code and guidance.
• Research Python algorithms and libraries to understand and implement machine learning solutions.
• Develop, train, and test machine learning algorithms when SME expertise is unavailable.
• Generate synthetic data using GANs and validate it against real data.
• Write Python code with TensorFlow to address machine learning challenges.
• Present at the Intern Project Expo.

Requirements

• 1 or more years of Python software development experience.
• Experience designing and developing code to pre-process and clean up data, ideally with jinja templates.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful software applications.
• Experience applying machine learning to solve problems, even through personal projects.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.
• Currently pursuing a STEM-related degree such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science.
• Course projects or club projects related to requirement definition and problem solving.
