About the position

STI-TEC is seeking a driven and creative Software Developer Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to apply your programming skills to real-world projects within the GovCon sector, particularly in Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E). You will work closely with experienced software engineers, gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative environment focused on supporting mission systems and the warfighter.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, development, and testing of software applications for defense-related projects.
• Collaborate with team members to implement new features and enhance existing software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining code quality and documentation.
• Support troubleshooting and debugging efforts for software-related issues.
• Engage in agile development processes and participate in team meetings.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and software development practices.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• A passion for software development and a desire to support national defense initiatives.
• U.S. Citizenship.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with web development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) or backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, .NET).
• Understanding of database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
• Interest in government contracting and defense-related software applications.
