About the position

The Software Developer Intern position at Group One Trading offers a unique opportunity for motivated individuals to gain hands-on experience with electronic trading systems. Interns will work closely with senior developers, learning about the business of equity options trading while developing proprietary software in a fast-paced environment. This role is designed for those pursuing a degree in a technical field and provides exposure to a variety of technologies and methodologies used in the trading industry.

Responsibilities

• Complete initial orientation and become familiar with the company's environment and infrastructure.
• Learn the roles and skillsets of development teammates to effectively utilize advice and information.
• Engage and contribute directly to projects that impact traders and the company.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or completed a BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Familiarity with a C-style object-oriented language such as C#, Java, C++, or Objective-C.
• Solid understanding of computer science and software development fundamentals.
• Desire to learn and grow as a software developer.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues across different functional units and locations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with electronic trading systems or financial markets.
