Software Developer Intern

About the position

Benchmark, Inc. is seeking a talented and motivated Software Developer Intern to join our growing team! As a Software Developer Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects, contributing to the development of our internal web applications. You'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, hone your C# programming skills, and master industry-standard tools and processes like Azure DevOps and Agile Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Participate in code reviews, learning best practices and providing constructive feedback.
• Develop new features and fix bugs in our internal web-based C# application.
• Contribute to front-end development and UI/UX design (if applicable).
• Use Azure DevOps for version control, collaboration, and project tracking.
• Actively participate in Agile Scrum meetings, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and sprint reviews.
• Adhere to coding best practices, including commenting, documentation, testing, and error handling.

Requirements

• Student pursuing a degree/certificate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of programming concepts.
• Enthusiasm for software development and a desire to learn.
• Strong work ethic and a team player attitude.
• Able to work 15-20 hours per week during the school year and between 15-40 hours per week during the summer.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with C#.
• Familiarity with SQL.
• Experience with UI/UX design.
