About the position
The Software Developer IV role at Ally focuses on end-to-end Cloud Native Application Development using Python. The position is designed for a strong team player who is versatile in their skillset and enjoys learning and tackling new challenges. The developer will be responsible for writing robust application logic, deploying cloud infrastructure, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, all while working collaboratively within a startup-like environment in an enterprise setting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Python APIs using frameworks such as Flask and FastAPI.
- Design and build serverless and stateful systems on AWS that are scalable and highly available.
- Configure and deploy CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
- Mentor and coach junior team members, providing code reviews and feedback.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve issues early in the development process.
- Participate in Agile development practices and contribute to team discussions.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in Python programming, including application service development.
- At least 5 years of AWS experience with services such as Lambda, ECS, S3, Dynamo DB, API Gateway, SQS, IAM, and Security Groups.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably using Terraform.
- Experience configuring and deploying CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Nice-to-haves
- AI/ML experience or certification.
- Experience with Apigee.
- Familiarity with microservice development patterns.
