About the position

The Life Technology Solutions practice at Milliman, Inc. is seeking a Software Developer to join their professional services team. This role is pivotal in delivering a comprehensive range of modeling solutions, particularly focusing on the integration of Milliman's industrial actuarial modeling solution, Integrate. This solution utilizes MG-ALFA to create highly automated, scalable, and governed modeling processes. The ideal candidate will possess superior technical and communication skills, enabling them to effectively collaborate with both actuarial consultants and the development team. In this position, you will develop a strong expertise in automation, orchestration, and data management tooling within Integrate. You will advise consultants on solution architecture design and implementation best practices while also contributing to the implementation of subcomponents such as Integrate Financial Projections (IFP) and Integrate Data Management (IDM). The role requires close collaboration with the product engineering team, acting as a business voice to product verticals, and working closely with the data and analytics vertical to maintain expertise, contribute to product development, and facilitate support during client engagements. This position is based in the Milliman office in Chicago, IL, but offers the flexibility of remote work for candidates across the United States. The compensation for this role ranges from $85,000 to $173,000, depending on various factors including education, experience, and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong expertise in automation/orchestration and data management tooling within Integrate.
  • Advise consultants on solution architecture design and implementation best practices.
  • Contribute to aspects of solution implementation, particularly for Integrate Financial Projections (IFP) and Integrate Data Management (IDM).
  • Collaborate closely with the product engineering team as a business voice to product verticals.
  • Work with the engineering team, especially the data/analytics vertical, to develop and maintain expertise and facilitate support during implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree focused on software engineering, computer science, financial engineering, or mathematics.
  • 7+ years of relevant software industry experience.
  • Prior experience working in actuarial science and financial modeling preferred.
  • Proficient in actuarial modeling software including MG-ALFA.
