R&A Risk Professionals is seeking a Software Developer to join our team in Urbandale, Iowa. As the Managing General Agent for PMMIC Insurance, we provide comprehensive administrative, accounting, underwriting, sales, and claim services, primarily focusing on pollution liability coverage for petroleum underground storage tanks. The Software Developer will play a crucial role in modifying existing in-house applications and assisting a team lead in the creation of new applications. The primary programming language for this position is C#, but familiarity with other technologies such as VB6, Microsoft SQL Server, ASP.NET, Javascript, and Powershell is also essential. In this role, the Software Developer will be responsible for understanding and implementing programming concepts such as data structures, object-oriented programming (OOP), and algorithm design. Attention to detail is critical, as the developer will need to follow coding standards and ensure the quality of the code produced. The ability to self-learn and find solutions through documentation or online resources is highly valued. The developer will also be expected to run tests against created classes and functions, ensuring that the applications meet the required specifications. Collaboration with team members and communication with business process owners or project managers will be necessary to gather specifications and deliver effective solutions. This position offers a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $80,000 per year.
