About the position

The Software Developer for Parking & Fleet IT Products at UCLA is responsible for developing and configuring back-end services that enhance usability and create business value for a range of stakeholders. This role involves translating requirements into code, conducting testing and debugging, and researching emerging technologies to improve IT products related to parking and fleet management. The developer will play a crucial role in advancing UCLA's mission by delivering exceptional IT services across the university community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and configure back-end services product solutions adhering to coding best practices and standards.
  • Translate requirements into code that enhances usability and creates business value.
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure optimal performance.
  • Research emerging technologies and industry practices for Parking & Fleet IT Products.
  • Make recommendations regarding best practices and technologies for adoption.
  • Provide input to continual improvement activities for assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in information technology, computer science, or management.
  • Three years of experience in higher education, higher education auxiliary services, parking or fleet services, or a related field.
  • Experience with C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, API Development, Entity Framework, Visual Studio IDE, REST API, and Sharepoint.
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Experience in on-premise, cloud, and mixed environments, including preparing Dev, Test, QA environments.
  • Experience with database systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL, and Azure cloud, supporting SQL jobs with complex stored procedures.
  • Experience in planning for deployment and creating feedback mechanisms, as well as developing and executing complex test plans.
  • Knowledge and skill in secure software development and software repository skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Five or more years of experience in information technology, computer science, management, or related fields.
  • Experience in complex higher education environments serving academic and administrative functions.
  • Bachelor's Degree in fields such as public administration, business administration, or communications.
