About the position

ASRC Federal Agile Decision Sciences (ADS) is seeking a Senior Software Developer (Senior/SME) who can work independently without the assistance of junior staff. This position is critical to the 402d Software Engineering Group at Robins Air Force Base, GA, where all work will be performed on base. The selected candidate must possess a Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility and is required to obtain a Security+CE certification within 120 days of starting the position. While the Security+CE certification is not mandatory to begin, it is essential for continued employment in this role. The ideal candidate will be highly qualified and experienced, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. Strong interpersonal skills are a must, as the role requires collaboration with various stakeholders. The work environment is fast-paced, and the candidate should be self-motivated and innovative, capable of adapting to changing requirements and challenges. The work schedule is flexible, with facilities open from 6 am to 6 pm. Employees can coordinate their hours with customer leadership and have the option to flex time during the two-week pay cycle to avoid using PTO for appointments. Additionally, a compressed work schedule may be available at the discretion of work center leadership, such as a 4/10 or 9/80 schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software applications with minimal assistance from junior staff.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions.
  • Implement best practices in software development, including DevSecOps and Agile methodologies.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of software applications through rigorous testing and validation.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to enhance software development processes.

Requirements

  • Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer/Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years of software development experience.
  • Security+ CE certification required to be obtained within 120 days of starting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with C++, Java, and Python for backend development.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for frontend development.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery Pipelines.
  • Experience with Cloud Based Design/Development and Containerization.
  • Proficiency in Git and Object Oriented Programming.
